Sony has filed a patent for a new bright portrait lens in Japan. The new patent describes the Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 lens designed for mirrorless cameras with full-frame image sensors.
Along with the FE 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, pending patent also include the Sonnar FE 55 mm F1.8 ZA lens.
This would be good news for the current Sony A7-series FE-mount users. On the other hand we have to underline that it may take a long time for this lens come into production.
