Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L IS USM Lens Release Date Scheduled for 2016

Canon is allegedly working on a EF 400mm f/5.6L IS USM lens which will also replace the widely popular EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens.

According to latest Canon rumors, the EF 400mm f/5.6L IS USM telephoto prime lens will become available on the market sometime in 2016.

Canon is rumored to replace the EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens with the IS version. The 400mm lens is a high-performance telephoto prime lens designed with portability and easy handling in mind especially for bird shooters.

The EF 400mm f/5.6L USM was released back in 1993 and a refreshed version with an IS version now said to be released sometime in 2016.

The rumor already in talks of some specs for the upcoming EF 400mm f/5.6L IS USM lens. It is expected to be lower weight and the price tag will be cheaper. It will be sure compatible with the with Canon’s EF 1.4x II and EF 2.0x II extenders.

Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM telephoto prime lens is currently priced around $1,300.
