Panasonic GM5 Reviews and Sample Images
Panasonic GM5 reviews include features, handling, performance of the camera with several sample and ISO test images.
From PhotographyBlog review :
In short it’s very hard to find fault with the GM5, given what it is. Yes, it’s not a DSLR, but it’s a case of horses for courses for this sort of camera – which you’ll probably be taking to locations and environments to which you’d never normally bother bringing a larger DSLR, just for reasons of convenience and practicality.
From ePhotozine review :
Despite being one of the smallest Micro Four Thirds cameras available with built in EVF, and also being smaller than most other mirrorless cameras, the Panasonic Lumix GM5 doesn’t compromise on image quality or features, and delivers advanced options in a camera small enough to fit in your pocket, even with the lens attached! The camera has a good 3 inch touch screen which makes it easy to use in combination with Panasonic’s clear and logical menu system. Built in Wi-Fi makes sharing photos or using the camera remotely easy and fun. There are a few negatives, including the short battery life, and the kit lens doesn’t offer as good macro performance as other kit lenses available, but for those that want excellent image quality, the ability to change lenses, and one of the smallest compact system cameras possible with a built in electronic viewfinder the Panasonic Lumix GM5 is our Editor’s Choice!
Panasonic Lumix GM5 Pros
- Built in EVF
- Very good noise performance
- Fast focus and shutter response
- Good touch screen
- Excellent image quality
- Excellent remote control Wi-Fi app
- Extremely small Micro Four Thirds camera body
- Small lenses available
- Quiet mechanical shutter / silent electronic shutter
- 5.8fps / 10fps continuous shooting
- Dual axis electronic level
Panasonic Lumix GM5 Cons
- Macro performance of 12-32mm lens is disappointing
- Short battery life
The Panasonic GM5 offers a 16MP Four Thirds sensor in a point-and-shoot sized camera body equipped with a Micro Four Thirds lens mount.
Built on the successes of the GM1, the Panasonic GM5 provides some enthusiast touches like a built-in 1.2m dot equivalent EVF and hot shoe. Also included is built-in Wi-Fi, 1080/60p HD video, 3″ 921k dot touch LCD and a bundled external flash.
