Sony today launched the new pocket-sized Sony Cyber-shot WX220 and W810 compact system cameras.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX220 model is extremely slim and compact, features an 18.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor with 1080/60p movie recording capabilities.
The WX220 includes a 10x zoom lens bearing the prestigious ‘G’ designation, and an integrated Wi-Fi module. The entry-level Sony DSC-W810 features a 20.1MP CCD sensor and 6x optical zoom lens, and can shoot HD movies at 720p.
The new Sony Cyber-shot WX220 will be available in August in black and gold for about $200, and the new Cyber-shot W810 will be available in September in silver for about $100.

The new pocket-sized DSC-WX220 model is extremely slim and compact, yet packs a ton of imaging punch thanks to its 18.2 megapixel Exmor R® CMOS sensor and 10x optical zoom G Lens. The high-resolution sensor and versatile lens are paired with Sony’s powerful BIONZ® X processor, ensuring that all images and full HD (1920×1080 @60p) videos are captured with exceptional detail and low noise.
The new camera also features advanced SteadyShot™ image stabilization for video, high speed AF for capturing moving subjects swiftly and accurately, and has built-in Wi-Fi® functionality for convenient image transfer and sharing with compatible smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android).
Cyber-shot W810 Camera – Sleek, user-friendly design at great value
The incredibly easy-to-use DSC-W810 features a 20.1MP CCD sensor and 6x optical zoom lens, and can shoot HD movies at 720p. It also has the fun Party Mode setting, which automatically adjusts sensitivity, exposure and color in low light social social settings to get great party shots with minimal effort.
The advanced flash on the W810 model is extremely useful for indoor or dusk shots, as it boosts the camera’s overall sensitivity and effectively extending flash range to make far-away subjects appear brighter. Additionally, for convenient movie shooting, there’s a dedicated movie button on the camera that instantly starts HD video recording without digging through menus.
