Sony A65 will not get a replacement as the A-mount camera appears to have been discontinued by the company.
After the Sony A77 II announcement, Sony has revealed a slide shows the A-mount lineup’s future. According to the slide a replacement for the Sony A65 is not in development and the SLT-A65 will never get a successor. See the image below.
Currently Sony’s A-mount line-up consists of the high-end A99, the mid-range A77 II and A65, and the low-end A58. The slide clearly shows that Sony A99 and A58 will get a successor but also these cameras will not be announced in the next couple of months.
