Sony A7s 4K Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Officially Announced
Sony has announced the Alpha 7S, 4K video recording full frame mirrorless camera designed for both stills and video. The camera can read out its entire sensor fast enough to output 4:2:2 4k video over HDMI at up to 30p, without the need for line skipping or pixel binning.
The Sony A7S features a new 12.2-megapixel with a 35mm full-frame sensor, 4K movie recording, ISO 50 to 102,400 (extendable to ISO 409,600) and an improved auto focus system that remains operational down to light levels as low as -4EV.
The “S” in the camera’s name denotes “sensitivity”. In movie shooting, it offers an ISO 200 – 102,400, with extension to 409,600. In stills it offers ISO 100 – 102,400, extendable to an ISO 50 – 409,600 range.
The camera’s professional video functions include XAVC S Full HD recording at 50Mbps, time code and optional XLR audio inputs.

The new Sony A7S full-frame digital camera with 4K video recording will be available in Summer 2014. Sony has also said it is developing a movie-focused 28-135mm F4 Powerzoom lens. Pricing has not yet been announced for either product.
