Kowa has announced the new “Prominar” 8.5mm f/2.8, 12mm f/1.8, 25mm f/1.8 MFT lenses for the Micro Four Thirds system cameras.
ePhotozine go hands-on with the new Kowa Prominar MFT lenses and posted the first image samples taken with the new 8.5mm f/2.8 and 25mm f/1.8.

The Kowa Prominar 8.5mm f/2.8 MFT is a 17mm equivalent rectilinear lens with a surprisingly low amount of geometric distortion (0.12% barrelling). The Kowa Prominar 12mm f/1.8 MFT is a fast 24mm equivalent wide-angle lens, while the Kowa Prominar 25mm f/1.8 MFT is a 50mm equivalent “normal” prime. All three lenses have proper distance scales and aperture rings.
Kowa 8.5mm f/2.8, 12mm f/1.8, 25mm f/1.8 MFT lenses will be available for Summer 2014. From ePhotozine hands-on :
The lenses will be priced between £500 and £800 when they are released on the market in Summer 2014, with the 8.5mm f/2.8 being priced at £800.
