Sigma has announced the new 50mm F1.4 DG HSM Art lens at CES 2014 show. Sigma has not officially announced the price or the release date but Australian photo retailer CameraPro has the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art available for pre-order at AU$ 1,499, about US$ 1,345.
Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG HSM is a completely new lens from Sigma added to the Art series this year. If this price tag is reliable, then the lens is expected to be more expensive than the 35mm f/1.4 Art Lens.
Also notted from the retailer that the “pricing listed is anticipation only, where final price and ETA are to be announced”.

Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG HSM Art lens is a fast normal prime for full frame DSLRs and it also works on APS-C / DX format cameras with a 75mm equivalent short telephoto effect. The lens employs an ultrasonic-type focusing motor, and according to Sigma uses improved autofocus algorithms.
