Canon Europe has published a brochure entitled “Story of the PowerShot G1 X Mark II Development“. The new PDF brochure describes in great details how the new G1 X Mark II camera was designed.
the.me has spotted an interesting paragraph where Canon, “kinda officially” explains themselves for the current classic camera design trends. This shows Canon doesn’t care “Retro Design” cameras.

As a result, the design is not pretentious, and it also does not look like a so-called compact camera, and achieves a great balance between traditional and new.”
