A new high-end Olympus OM-D camera expected to be announced in September. The upcoming Olympus rumored to be called as OM-D E-M7 and it will NOT replace the current E-M5 camera.
The Olympus OM-D E-M7 will feature better specs and Olympus will put the camera in a higher-price category. The current OM-D E-M5 body only price is $999 at Amazon and no discount yet. This also gives some signals that a replacement is out of the question.
The newly announced and main rival Panasonic GX7 and Olympus E-M5 feature a 16 megapixel sensor, ISO up to 25,600, built-in image stabilization and tiling touchscreen.
We can expect better features from the Olympus OM-D E-M7 as a high-end camera and sure this will make the camera price more expensive to the current $1000 line.
