Nikon is planning to release a new telephoto prime lens by the end of 2013. According to NR, there will be some changes in Nikon’s roadmap and the replcament of the current AF-S NIKKOR f/4D ED-IF lens, the new AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4G VR lens to be announced soon.
Nikon is planning “to launch new products in the latter half of the fiscal year expect a shift towards newer products that have higher profit margins“. This new upgrade of 300mm f/4G lens will have a better image quality than the older version.
Nikon is also rumored to announce three new cameras before the CES 2014 show. One of them is a full frame camera possibly Nikon D4x, the other one is entry level DX model Nikon D1000 and a third unknown camera could be a mirrorless or SLT based or a retro design.
