Canon PowerShot SX170 IS, SX510 HS Announced, Specs, Price
Canon has announced the new PowerShot SX170 IS, PowerShot SX510 HS point and shoot compact cameras.
The PowerShot SX510 HS’ predecessor, the SX500, used a 16 megapixel CCD sensor. The SX510 gets a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor, hence the new ‘HS’ designation. Built-in Wi-Fi is also added to the SX510′s feature set, and it offers what’s almost certainly the same 30x 24-720mm equivalent optical zoom lens that the SX500 used, a 3.0 inch LCD and 1080/24p video.
The Canon Power Shot SX170 IS is a compact point-and-shoot featuring a 16 megapixel 1/2.3″ CCD sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor to produce high-resolution, well-detailed stills and HD 720p video. The processor also works to provide reduced noise levels and overall image clarity as well as power throughout the camera to enable a High Speed AF system and intelligent auto shooting modes.
